I love observational painting, particularly plein air; working outdoors reveals the colours in shadows better than any photograph. The limited time frame and constantly changing weather conditions add excitement to both the experience and the work.

I have won several awards for my plein air paintings, which must be completed in a time frame. Other pieces get finished at my studio, where the imprint of my time in nature is embedded in the canvas.
