About

Award-winning artist Sarah Pondevie standing in from of a winning plein air painting in the WASA 2023 exhibition

Sarah Pondevie

I am an award-winning West Australian artist who grew up in Walyalup (Fremantle).

I work in oils, pastels and recently, in watercolour, as I find that all of these disciplines directly influence and inform each other to complement my style.

With each, I look for purity in pigments that reflect the vibrant light of Australia.

Working plein air is an important part of my practice. I bring these experiences into the studio when I am not out travelling.

I use strong design elements in my composition, focusing on vibrant light, colours in shadows and reflected light.

I am available for workshops, tutoring, demonstrations, commissions and private painting sales.
