Abstraction

Abstraction with mixed media allows me to respond intuitively to the landscape rather than simply describe it. Layering different materials creates unexpected textures and marks that reflect the complexity of memory, atmosphere, and place, while encouraging experimentation and discovery throughout the painting process.
